Biography

Corey J. Wallach, a native of Northern Virginia, is pleased to have returned to the area as a spine surgeon for the Anderson Clinic and to serve as the Medical Director for the INOVA Spine Institute in its eastern region, overseeing quality spine care at Alexandria and Mt. Vernon hospitals.

Dr. Wallach left Virginia to attend Columbia University, where he first studied Architecture and Religion before beginning his medical career. He attended medical school at the University of California, Davis, where he was honored with both the Lipscomb Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he conducted extensive research on biologic treatment strategies for degenerative spinal disorders, earning national and international recognition for his efforts.

He returned to California for his spine fellowship at the prestigious UCLA Comprehensive Spine Center, which specializes in motion-preserving, minimally invasive, and traditional treatment strategies for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar pathology, working with both the orthopedic spine and neurosurgical spine care teams.

Since returning to Virginia, Dr. Wallach has been delighted to oversee the growth and development of spine care at the Anderson Clinic. Our spine center now addresses all aspects of spine care with an emphasis on conservative management and the latest in minimally invasive treatment options. We pride ourselves foremost on patient education and assist with physical therapy tailored to your unique spinal complaints and therapeutic and diagnostic spinal injections when necessary. If surgery is required, we utilize advanced techniques that allow for a rapid resolution of one’s pain, as well as a quick return to activities and independence. He has also been integral to the development and growth of the INOVA Spine Center while serving as the medical director for spine care at both INOVA Alexandria and Mt. Vernon hospitals, aiming to improve spine care for all patients in the northern Virginia region.

In keeping with his academic training, Dr. Wallach continues to be actively involved in clinical research aimed at improving spine care and lecturing nationally on various treatment options for spinal disorders. He has served on the board of directors for the American College of Spine Surgery, has chaired its educational curriculum, and recently served as the College’s President.

In his spare time, Dr. Wallach enjoys woodworking and guitar but mostly enjoys the company of his wife and three children.
