Biography

David Villegas is a Northern VA native who attended Herndon High School, where he was inducted into the National Honor Society, sang bass in choir, and played defensive end for the travel football team. He went on to pursue his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Mary Washington; it was there he discovered his love for orthopedics after undergoing ACL reconstruction, the result of a skiing accident his sophomore year. After being accepted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, he graduated Cum Laude.

After graduation, he worked as an Orthopedic Technologist for 3 years before starting the Physician Assistant Master’s program at James Madison University. His passion for orthopedics continued through his studies, ultimately writing his Master’s thesis on the benefits of knee bracing.

Currently, he is a member of the AAPA and VAPA, practicing as a board certified Physician Assistant with Dr. Kevin B. Fricka in the joint replacement center. His favorite part of the job is getting his hands dirty in the operating room.

In his spare time, David is a horror movie buff and enjoys home brewing beer, which allows him to express his creative side. Having been at it for quite some time, he has plenty of tips for beginners in the craft, so feel free to ask!
