Dr. Branche Serves on the Medical Team for the Citi Open 2019 Tennis Tournament

Congratulations to Dr. George Branche, who served his 28th year on the medical team for the USA 2019 Citi Open Tennis Tournament. Unique among tennis tournaments, the Citi Open is owned by the nonprofit Washington Tennis & Education Foundation and allocates a portion of its proceeds to funding its mission of breaking the cycle of poverty in the city’s underserved communities through free tennis and educational programs for children. Congratulations to the USA Women’s Soccer Team for Winning the Women’s World Cup Title and to Dr. Sameer Nagda who Supported the Women as the Team Orthopedic Surgeon

Join us in congratulating the USA Women’s soccer team for winning the FIFA 2019 World Cup title along with the medical support team, including our very own, Dr. Sameer Nagda who supported the team and kept them healthy. Dr. Nagda has been apart of the team since 2016 and traveled with the team throughout France on their journey to winning the World Cup. Dr. Nagda presents at local middle school career fair

Dr. Nagda recently spent several days presenting to Students at Carl Sandburg Middle School’s Career Carnival.  Dr. Nagda volunteered to explain to the students what its like to be an orthopaedic surgeon and a sports medicine specialist.  He shared his career path, and showed videos of surgery and sports injuries.  Over 150 students listened to his presentation over the two day career carnival.  “I think it is important to get kids interested in a career in helping others and medicine at an early age.   » Read more about: Dr. Nagda presents at local middle school career fair  »


Dr. Nagda Named Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for United States Women’s Soccer Team for World Cup 2019

Join us in congratulating Dr. Sameer Nagda for being named the team orthopaedic surgeon for United States Women’s Soccer.  This summer, in France, they will be pursuing their 4th World Cup Championship.  Dr. Nagda has worked with the team since 2016 and is honored to have been chosen to travel with the team and assist in the pursuit of defending their World Cup.  Let’s go, Team USA!  He also recently traveled with the team to Tampa for a Friendly Match vs Brazil.  » Read more about: Dr. Nagda Named Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for United States Women’s Soccer Team for World Cup 2019  »

Dr. Nagda and Dr. Sershon Speak at the 38th Annual Cherry Blossom Meeting

Dr. Sameer Nagda and Dr. Robert Sershon both gave multiple lectures at the 38th annual Cherry Blossom Meeting.  The meeting is the oldest sports medicine meeting in the country.  It attracts a broad audience of orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and physician assistants.  The faculty was comprised of many nationally recognized experts in Orthopedics and Rehab.  “It was a great opportunity to speak at a well known meeting that happens to be held here locally!”  » Read more about: Dr. Nagda and Dr. Sershon Speak at the 38th Annual Cherry Blossom Meeting  »


Dr. Jerry Engh visits

The clinic was full of smiles and the hallways were full of laughter this morning.  After all, Dr. Jerry came for a visit and gave out a good dose of hugs.  He stopped by to give a lecture on the history of the Anderson Clinic and orthopedics to our current joint replacement fellows.  He also shared some words of advice to each fellow as they leave our clinic and begin their new journey in practice in August of this year.    » Read more about: Dr. Jerry Engh visits  »


Dr. Azer Returns from Medical Mission to Rwanda

Dr. Nigel Azer recently returned from his third medical mission trip to Rwanda.  Along with physicians in other specialties, he made a great impact on the Eastern Rwandan refugee camp of Kagyeo treating approximately two-hundred patients with general orthopaedic care, medical care and minor surgical procedures.  While in Rwanda, the team led two conferences training local physicians and one conference for training and equipping the community nurses.  Community nurses provide the majority of medical care in the villages of Rwanda.  » Read more about: Dr. Azer Returns from Medical Mission to Rwanda  »


Dr. Lovallo’s Infection Prevention Protocol to be Adopted by Harvard

Dr. Jeffrey Lovallo, along with other orthopaedic surgeons in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, recently published an article in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery entitled, “Intraoperative intra-articular injection of gentamicin: Will it decrease the risk of infection in total shoulder arthroplasty?”

Congratulations to Dr. Andy Engh!

Dr. Andy Engh was elected to The Knee Society as an Active Member on October 24, 2014.  The mission of The Knee Society is to promote outstanding care to patients with knee disorders through innovative research and education.  We are very proud of this accomplishment!
